General Terms of Business

All assignments are only accepted by advisors of VLC Legal and Tax, barring applicability of the articles 7:404 and 7:407, para. 2 of the Dutch Civil Code.

Unless otherwise agreed, fees are calculated based on hours worked multiplied with an hourly rate to be determined, plus an additional fee for office costs. The hourly rate can differ from case to case and is dependent on the nature, the interest and the urgency of the of the matter. Disbursements are invoiced separately and in advance as much as possible.

It is customary to demand an advance, before commencing the activities. The size of the advance is determined by the estimated costs for the legal aid during the first period.

VLC Legal and Tax Advice excludes all liability, including the liability for the shortcomings of third parties engaged by him and is authorized by the client to accept any liability limitations of third parties on behalf of the client.

The principal indemnifies the advisor against all third party claims, the reasonable costs of legal assistance included, which relate to the work performed for the principal, unless this is the result of gross negligence, or willful misconduct on the part of the advisor.

The legal relation between the principal and the advisor is subject to Dutch law. The Dutch judge in the district of The Hague will be exclusively competent in any conflict that may arise between the advisor and the principal. All stipulations in these general terms of business are made also made for the benefit of the possible partners of the advisor.
